How to solve Error Code 17

Fault code:

【17】Inverter short circuit protection

Reason:

The main reasons for triggering inverter short-circuit protection include line short circuit, abnormal voltage, and unreasonable load distribution. When a sudden change in current is detected (such as abnormal peak current caused by a short circuit), the system will trigger a protection mechanism to quickly cut off the circuit through components such as circuit breakers or relays.

solution:

The handling method needs to be targeted according to the specific reasons.

1. Line short circuit

Short circuits in the circuit may be caused by aging, damage, or animal bites on the insulation layer, resulting in exposed contact of the wire core. Immediately cut off the power, inspect and repair damaged circuits, and replace aging cables if necessary.

2. Abnormal voltage

Input voltage that is too high/too low or fluctuates excessively (such as photovoltaic module shading or battery aging) can trigger the inverter protection mechanism. It is necessary to check the cleanliness and wiring status of the components, use an IV curve tester to test the performance of the components, and replace damaged components if necessary.

3. Unreasonable load distribution

When multiple high-power devices are started simultaneously or the load power factor is low, it exceeds the regulation range of the inverter. It is recommended to allocate loads reasonably, avoid starting high-power equipment at the same time, and install reactive power compensation devices to optimize load characteristics.  ‌

Other precautions

Ensure that the installation environment of the inverter is dry and ventilated, and avoid insulation performance degradation caused by humid environments.

Regularly check whether the circuit joints are loose or oxidized, and use waterproof cabinets to protect the equipment.  ‌
