How to solve Error Code 30

Fault code:

【30】Battery capacity rate below 5% alarm (effective after successful BMS communication)

Reason:

The alarm for energy storage inverter battery capacity rate below 5% (effective after successful BMS communication) is usually triggered by a decrease in battery pack health or abnormal management system.

Decreased health of battery pack

1. Cell capacity decay: Long term charging and discharging can cause a sudden drop in the capacity of some cells . A dedicated tester should be used to test the discharge capacity of each cell. If the capacity difference exceeds 5%, the abnormal cell needs to be repaired or replaced as a priority.  ‌

2. Abnormal temperature: Defects in the heat dissipation design or malfunctions in the temperature sensor result in a temperature difference exceeding 15 ℃, triggering the protection mechanism. It is necessary to check the heat dissipation design and calibrate the temperature sensor.  ‌

BMS system abnormality

1. Parameter configuration error: BMS did not correctly recognize the new battery pack parameters (such as capacity calculation error exceeding 20%), BMS parameters need to be recalibrated or firmware updated.  ‌

2. Communication failure: Check if the CAN bus connection is correct (using a 120 Ω terminal resistor), and ensure that the communication protocol matches.  ‌‌

Solution:

1. Prioritize checking the health status of the battery pack, and use professional equipment to detect the internal resistance of the battery cells (with particular attention to those exceeding 80m Ω) and ensure consistency in capacity.  ‌

2. Check if the cooling system design meets the requirements and ensure that the temperature sensor accuracy error is less than 2 ℃.  ‌

3. Re calibrate BMS parameters and update firmware versions as necessary to adapt to new battery characteristics.
