Multiple Pulse Inverters:
     These inverters use a combination of transformers and phase shifting techniques to generate multiple output voltage levels. By appropriately designing the transformer connections and phase shifts, the harmonic content in the output waveform can be significantly reduced. For example, a 12pulse inverter can effectively suppress lower order harmonics compared to a basic 6pulse inverter.
     They are suitable for medium to high power applications where high power quality is required. The use of multiple pulses helps to improve the waveform symmetry and reduce the harmonic distortion, resulting in a cleaner output voltage for the connected load.
Multilevel Inverters:
    Multilevel inverters operate by generating a stepped output voltage waveform with multiple levels. This is achieved by using a series connection of power semiconductor switches and capacitors or other voltage sources. The stepped waveform approximates a sinusoidal waveform more closely than the traditional two-level inverter, reducing the harmonic content.
   They offer several advantages, including lower switching losses, reduced electromagnetic interference (EMI), and improved power quality. Multilevel inverters are widely used in high voltage and high-power applications such as electric motor drives, renewable energy integration, and grid connected systems.
