Reason for malfunction: Excessive load power consumption: When the load connected to the MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) system operates at a high power for a long time, the discharge current of the battery is too high, which will cause the battery power to rapidly decrease until the undervoltage protection is triggered. For example, in the absence of other power sources, a high-power DC load (such as an industrial motor) continuously draws electrical energy from the battery, which may deplete the battery in a short period of time.
Insufficient charging: If the output power of charging devices such as solar panels is insufficient to replenish the battery in a timely manner, and the load continues to consume, the battery will gradually enter an undervoltage state. For example, in continuous cloudy weather, the power generation efficiency of solar panels is extremely low, and when the load is used normally, the battery will remain in a discharged state, ultimately triggering undervoltage protection. Solution: Power limitation: Calculate the power demand of the load, reasonably limit the number and power of loads working simultaneously, in order to reduce the discharge rate of the battery. Power information can be obtained by viewing the nameplate of the load device, and then the appropriate load power range can be determined based on the capacity of the battery and the output capability of the MPPT system.
Time sharing load: Time sharing control is applied to non-critical loads to avoid all loads working simultaneously. Large loads are arranged to be used during periods of sufficient solar power generation, while only low-power lighting equipment is used at night or when solar power generation is insufficient.
Check charging equipment: Check if the solar panel or other charging equipment is working properly. Ensure that the surface of the battery panel is clean and unobstructed to improve charging efficiency. For photovoltaic systems, it is also necessary to check whether the connection lines are normal and whether the settings of the photovoltaic controller are correct. Regularly clean up tree leaves and other obstructions.
