As the core hub of new energy photovoltaic and energy storage systems, the inverter is known as the "brain and heart" of the entire system. To put it simply, photovoltaic panels generate direct current (DC) and batteries store DC power. Only inverters can convert DC into alternating current (AC) for household and grid use. Meanwhile, they undertake voltage regulation, grid connection, fault protection and intelligent dispatching, directly determining the power generation efficiency, operational stability and overall revenue of power stations.
Currently, there are three mainstream application types in the industry to meet diverse market demands:
1. String PV Inverter: The absolute mainstream for residential and industrial & commercial photovoltaic scenarios. It features multi-channel MPPT tracking, strong tolerance to shading, simple operation and maintenance, and high adaptability to complex rooftop conditions, with outstanding compatibility and cost performance.
2. Central Inverter: Mainly applied to large-scale ground photovoltaic power stations. It focuses on high power and low cost, suitable for centralized large-scale power generation scenarios.
3. Energy Storage PCS Inverter: Different from pure photovoltaic inverters, it supports bidirectional charge and discharge. It realizes power storage and discharge, peak shaving and valley filling, and off-grid power backup. As a core essential product for integrated PV-storage and microgrid projects, it boasts the fastest market growth rate.
From the perspective of the 2026 industry landscape, the core development trends of the inverter sector are clear: high efficiency, high voltage resistance, intelligence, integrated PV-storage function and superior environmental adaptability. With the popularization of 1500V high-voltage systems and the upgrading of silicon carbide device applications, equipment power density keeps improving with smaller size, higher efficiency and lower failure rate. Meanwhile, overseas market demand is booming, and domestic inverter brands maintain a leading global market share.
In essence, an inverter is far more than a simple power conversion device; it is acore factor that determines the safety, revenue and service life of new energy power stations. Continuously optimizing product stability, working condition adaptability and intelligent operation and maintenance capabilities constitutes our core competitiveness in the new energy track.
