Fault code:
【14】Inverter overload protection
Reason:
Load power exceeds the rated capacity of the inverter: If the total power of the connected load exceeds the rated power of the inverter, and the load exceeds the capacity of the device, overload protection will be triggered.
Excessive surge current during load start-up: When inductive loads such as motors and compressors are started, the instantaneous current can reach 3-7 times the rated current, exceeding the overload protection threshold of the inverter.
Load or line failure: internal short circuit of the load (such as breakdown of electrical components); The insulation damage of the output line leads to phase to phase short circuit or grounding fault. The fault forms a low impedance path, causing a sudden increase in current and triggering the inverter's overcurrent protection.
Abnormal input power supply: The DC input voltage is too low, and the inverter increases the current to maintain output power; Excessive input power ripple affects the accuracy of internal current detection in the inverter, leading to misjudgment of overload.
solution:
Verify load power and adjust: Calculate the total power of all loads (taking into account the starting power of inductive loads) and compare it with the rated value on the inverter nameplate; If the load exceeds the limit, turn off non essential equipment or replace the inverter with a higher power.
Relieve the starting impact of inductive loads: Install a soft starter: used for motor loads, gradually increasing the voltage to reduce the starting current; Configure energy storage capacitors: parallel large capacity capacitors to compensate for reactive power and reduce current fluctuations; Time division load start: Open inductive devices one by one at intervals to avoid the accumulation of surge currents.
Troubleshooting load and circuit faults: Disconnect all loads and measure the insulation resistance of the output circuit with a multimeter. If the resistance is low, check for circuit aging or grounding faults; Connect the load one by one, observe whether the protection is triggered, and locate the faulty equipment;
Improve input power environment: If the DC input voltage is too low, check the number of photovoltaic modules connected in series or the battery pack capacity, and if necessary, add modules or charge; Install input filters to reduce power ripple interference and ensure accurate current detection.
