Fault code【17】：Inverter short circuit protection

Reason for malfunction:

Control circuit failure: The control circuit is responsible for controlling the output frequency, voltage, and other parameters of the inverter. When the control circuit malfunctions, such as chip damage, program errors, etc., it may output incorrect control signals, causing the power devices of the inverter to work abnormally and leading to short circuits.

Load short circuit: When a short circuit fault occurs in the load connected to the inverter, such as a short circuit in the motor winding or a phase to phase short circuit caused by insulation damage in the load line, it will cause a sharp increase in the output current of the inverter, triggering short circuit protection.

Environmental factors: If the inverter operates in a humid and dusty environment, moisture and dust may enter the interior of the inverter, causing a short circuit on the circuit board. In addition, excessive temperature can cause a decrease in the performance of internal components in the inverter, accelerate the aging of insulation materials, and increase the risk of short circuits.

Solution:

Repair control circuit: Check the chips, capacitors, resistors, and other components of the control circuit for any damage or deterioration. If it is a program issue, the correct program needs to be reprogrammed. If necessary, replace the entire control circuit board.

Troubleshooting load faults: Conduct a comprehensive inspection of the load connected to the inverter, measure the insulation resistance of the load using an insulation resistance meter, and check whether the motor winding is short circuited. For short-circuit loads, they should be repaired or replaced in a timely manner.

Improve working environment: Install the inverter in a dry, ventilated, and dust-free environment, and if necessary, install air conditioning, dehumidifiers, and other equipment to control the ambient temperature and humidity.
